Corporal Quazar earns the honor of being named December's
Commando of the Month
by best answering the question,
"If you were Santa Claus, what would you do to make Christmas more Commando-like?"
Interviewed by his brother, Recruit Sunny, Quazar tells us a bit about himself:
SUNNY: Quazar, tell us a little about your childhood.
QUAZAR: Ise cumes frum a fambly of 6 kids. I habs 2 blue sisters an 3 green brudders. Theys all lib odder places now in nice homes. My blue mommy and green daddy lib in da odder rum and google eyes each odder. I was born in dis same house dat I libs in now. Da hooman mommy fell in lub wit me cause I was so sweet an she couldn't let me go away. Da sweet ting is my disguise so no one wuld eber guess dat Ise a Commando.
SUNNY: How do you feel about the other feathered members of your flock?
QUAZAR: Ise got a new brudder now. Its you, Sunny! You came to lib here when I was only a few weeks old. Den dis snow white cockatiel came ta lib wit us too. She was scared ob people but not ob us. We lubs ta chase her all ober da place but sumtimes we lets her hangs out wit us. Her buddy flys away in a rain storm so she only gots us now so we feel sorry fer hers. I do kinda miss hims cause he whistled da Andy Griffith song all da time an it was nice. Den dat mommy ob ours habs dozens ob boring finches an dat daddy habs a big grey feaffered ting.
SUNNY: What do you Like about your life?
QUAZAR: I likes dat I (an you an Snow) can fly free all ober da house ifn we wants to although we prefers runnin and climbing. We prefers ta stay in OUR libing rum and sumtimes in OUR kitchen. I like dat we gots a nice playstan with lots ob dishes ob food in it and 2 water dishes too, plus toys. I likes dat OUR picture window habs toys hungs all ober it, an playhouse gourds, and stuffs. I lub to climbs all ober mommy an daddy when deys watchin dat picture tube, an ta nibble da pin feaffers on daddys lip.
SUNNY: What would you change?
QUAZAR: I'd get rids ob all da finches an da grey thing. I'd hab spray millet more often. I'd make mommy stay home all da time an cooks fer us instead of goings to work all day.
SUNNY: : If YOU were Santa, how would you change Christmas?
QUAZAR: : If'n I was Santa Claus, ebery year I'd invite all da commandobirdies ta da north pole fer one weekend to supervise da elfs into makin parrotlet toys and retoolin all da toy machines into bird toy machines wit lots ob bells an tasty sticks an play stations an stuffs. An den I'd have da bake shoppe stop makin dose human cookies an candycanes an start makin birdie bread in all kinds ob gud flavors. An..an..an..den I'd change dose stupid red and green Christmas colers into parrotlet colers ob green, blue, yeller an white, dose wuld be da new Christmas colers. Den I'd hab dat big Christmas tree decorated in a string ob popcorn, raspberries an cranberries an nuts and wrapped all round dat tree and hang pellets in Christmas shapes an birdie breads an birdie cookies all ober dat tree. An instead ob water in da tree stand, we'd hab strawberry juice in dere an we could drinks out ob it! I'd hab one day to decorate dat tree and one day to eat da decorations. An I'd declare dat an official annual commando mission weekend. Den I'd gib dose raindeer da night off an hab dat ol sleigh pulled by a team a Macaws. Dats whut I'd do if'n I was Santee Claus. First we'd take ober da North Pole an den we'd take ober da world. ...........An visions ob sugar plums, an sugar strawberries, an sugar broccolis, an sugar pear slices dancin in my heads...............
SUNNY: What are your favorite foods?
QUAZAR: Mines favorite foods are sunflower seeds, den broccoli, den rice.
SUNNY: Favorite pastime?
QUAZAR: Ise likes ta pluck da fake hanging plants an throw da leaves all ober da room an I likes playin my bamboo panpipes while you plays yer coconut shell kalimba. We makes sum rockin music!
SUNNY: Favorite adventures?
QUAZAR: My favorite adventure so far was goin ta da castle in Scotland an chasin ghosts. Dats how I earned da rank ob Corporal.
QUAZAR: Lastly I want to say how honored I am ta be voted Commando of the Month. An to say dat I have an appointment wit Santa Claus next Tuesday ta discuss da changes ta Christmas an ta set up da annual Parrotlet Taking Ober da North Pole Weekend.*********************************
